This video, shot during the protests of December 27, 2009, shows large-scale citizen action against the motorcycle-mounted Basij thugs. The Basij paramilitaries use their trademark red motorcycles against civilians much the way military cavalry or mounted police anti-riot units used horses.
As formidable as the Basij motorcycle thugs are, however, their bikes make them vulnerable. And so we present this amateur video of mob action against the Basijis, set to music. The crowd is admirable for its flanking maneuver to isolate and take down individual paramilitary forces:
